Shirley Westcott – Consultant
Shirley Westcott has spent 14 years in corporate governance at two of the nation’s most influential proxy advisory firms, PROXY Governance and Institutional Shareholder Services, where she played a leading role in the development of their U.S. and global proxy voting policies. Through her years of following governance trends and working with constituents throughout the governance community, Shirley has acquired a keen faculty for understanding and bridging the corporate and investor perspectives on a broad range of issues, including board structures, executive compensation, takeover defenses and regulatory initiatives. A recognized governance expert, Shirley is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a contributor to articles of major business publications.
Shirley has previously worked in the U.S. intelligence community, management consulting and international development. She holds an M.B.A. in international business and finance from the George Washington University, an M.A. in international affairs from American University, and a B.A. in Spanish from Purdue University.
