Kristina Veaco – Principal

Kristina Veaco believes that sound corporate governance must be practical. She has been advising large public companies on securities law compliance and corporate governance for over 20 years. She ran the Office of the Corporate Secretary, including Board and Committee activities, securities law, stock exchange and SOX compliance, stock administration and subsidiary maintenance at McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 15 company. Prior to that, Kris had responsibility for the Corporate Secretary function as well as securities law compliance as the head of the corporate securities group at AirTouch Communications, Inc., which was spun off from Pacific Telesis Group.

Kris left McKesson Corporation to form the Veaco Group in recognition of the growing emphasis on corporate governance and the need for practical experience in the area. In addition to her depth of experience in managing the Corporate Secretary and Board work, Kris brings further knowledge of functions and responsibilities to her governance work including stock administration and equity grant practices, transfer agent management, captive broker, registered agent, subsidiary management and other vendor relationships.

Kris is sought after as a speaker and panelist by a variety of professional organizations. She was the President of the Northern California Chapter of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals for 2008 and 2009, and is on the Advisory Board. She was a member of the national Board of the Society from 2002 - 2007 and is a member of the Corporate Practices, Educational Programs and Small and Mid-Cap Companies Committees.

Kris is also active in the Northern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Corporate Governance Committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Committee. She graduated from Hastings College of the Law and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Davis.
