Kristina Veaco – Principal

Kristina Veaco believes that sound corporate governance must be practical. She has been advising large public companies on securities law compliance and corporate governance for over 20 years. For seven years she ran the Office of the Corporate Secretary, including Board and Committee activities, securities law, stock exchange and SOX compliance, stock administration and subsidiary maintenance at McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 50 company. Prior to that, Kris had responsibility for the Corporate Secretary function as well as securities law compliance as the head of the corporate securities group at AirTouch Communications, Inc., which was spun off from Pacific Telesis Group in 1994. She joined the securities group at Pacific Telesis Group in 1986.

Kris left McKesson Corporation in 2006 to form the Veaco Group and continues to provide services to that company in corporate governance matters. In addition to her depth of experience in managing corporate secretarial functions, Kris brings her knowledge of equity grant practices and executive compensation disclosure to her governance work.

Kris is sought after as a speaker and panelist by a variety of professional organizations. She was a member of the national Board of Directors of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals from 2002–2007, and is currently President and a member of the Advisory Board of the Northern California Chapter of the Society. She is also active in the Northern California Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. She graduated from Hastings College of the Law and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Davis.
